Erm...
Besides the fact that it was a rally point for a country formerly in economic decline.. which became one man's crusade against a people who had nothing to do with it.. which then caused the rest of the world to jump in and fight for liberty and freedom?
I guess I'd have to say it sucked.. if anything either of my grandfathers told me holds true at least..

On the plus side it has spawned countless films, TV series and documentaries. So now we all know how evil war can be, needless to say there will be no more wars...
Especially as it was meant to be the second in the series, whose full title was The War To End All Wars.

It just proves what ingenuity, teamwork and dedicated people can do when the event of evil threatens us.
The Axis had some real advanced weapons, but failed to develope them before they were ready.
Haste makes waste....thank God for that blunder.

It wasn't so much that the axis failed.. They had several things that were even in development (such as the first jets) that would have made things a LOT worse for us.. but..
Hitler always had to have final say in EVERYTHING. And some of the final words he came up with really screwed a lot of things up. I remember for one specific instance, one of those first jets they were building.. he went in, looked around, then ordered them to make them into bombers. They were never ever designed as bombers, but that was his order.
The engineers complied (so would I if he was my boss) and the planes were a horrible flop, and as an added result, he didn't have nearly enough fighter planes to keep the Britts and the Yanks (that's us) off the bombers he had that actually worked. Resulted in a lot of victories for us in the skies that made a huge difference.
There were all kinds of situations like that.. It's been said many times, and very likely true.. that if Hitler had actually let his generals do their jobs and stopped interfering all the time, most of us may very well be speaking German today. Even as it stood, there were many many times when the outcome was rather bleak, and things only turned out the way they did due to various combinations of tenacity, miracles, and fortune.
But eh.. it's still a rather bleak subject...

Germany had the A-Bomb before anyone. (just not in one piece) That would of made all the difference if they concentrated on it a little more, or waited a few years before invading Poland. I would consider that failure.

I think that some of the RAF were miricale makers I mean they were out numbered nearly all the time ( I Think) and they still won many of their battles.
