It's a jargon term meaning basically, "Some technological thing."
It's really a nonsense word used in place of something (usually high tech) that you either don't know the name of or don't understand.
As simplistic example, someone who builds computers would say, "Hand me that grounding strap." where someone who doesn't know the terminology would just point and say, "gimme that doohickey."

^^^^^^^ Basically it's just like that. Ex. Someone doesn't know what a cd is(But knows how to use it(for shame)) They might say Hand me that round dohicky. OR Hand me that donut shaped Dohickey
