Alright, to get the obvious out of the way:
US install (the pre-patched 1.0.20.0 version) WindowsXP Professional x86 SP2 nVidia GeForce 8600GT with latest beta drivers AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ 2GHz Sound Blaster Live 5.1 PCI with the latest drivers that support this card
Game loads, goes to black screen like it was gonna play the intro vid, then dies. I've got the Dr. Watson error report saved (had to manually type it into notepad) if it'll help any.
Something I have tried is first setting it to Win98 compatability mode and disabiling visual themes.. did nothing.
I've also tried this program called "setaffinity" to force it to recognize meh dual-core CPU as a single-core one.
Could this possibly be an issue with ReForce (small program that tweaks the WindowsXP registry to make up for lack of a "Use Best Refresh Rate" option) trying to force every resolution at 75Hz (my LCD's highest)?

That could very well be the problem, yes. Try disabling it and then manually set your refresh rate to 60. If that doesn't work try lowering your desktop resolution and color depth as well.

1280x1024 native resolution, and I played it fine before with a starting res of 1152x864.
Disabled ReForce and didn't change anything.
It changes resolutions fine..
Update: Reinstalled, and now it instead crashes when going to the menu.

"I played it fine before"? Does that mean you have been able to play the game on your computer before?

Well, the only things that changed between the last time I played and now are my vidcard, CPU, and motherboard. I used the same OS, the same RAM, same soundcard.. which kind of boggles me why its doing this now.
Last time I played it, was an AMD AthlonXP 2000+ with a GeForce 6600AGP.

At a lower desktop resolution, right? Try lowering your current desktop resolution to those settings and launch the game. See what happens.

Tried 1152x864x32bpp, and 800x600x32bpp *and* 800x600x16bpp. Can't be DirectX 'cause mine is the 9.0c August 2007 version.. right? Or might it not have some stuff that DX8 did?

No, your DirectX is fine. Hmmm... You said you've also got the latest video drivers... You said you reinstalled Ghost Master, right? Did you uninstall the game first or did you just reinstall over it?

Uninstalled then reinstalled. And again, yesterday. Nothing changes. I guess it just doesn't like me.

You're jinxed! All right, just kidding. Are you using old savegames (i.e. from before you changed your graphics card)? If you're not using them, do you still have any of those savegames in the savegame folder (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Ghost Master\Savegames)?
