Hi gang!
I've just bought "GhostMaster" and have found that the sound skips in bits on and off, especially when animated scenes are running. I have checked that I have the latest drivers for both my sound and video card. Similarly, I have the latest version of DirectX9.0a. I am completely "flumoxed" as to what the problem could be! The Gfx and soundcards are as follows in my PC:
O/S : Windows XP Professional Edition Graphics Card: Creative GeForce 2 Ti Soundcard : SoundBlaster Live!
My current drivers are:
Graphics Card: nv4_disp.dll (version 6.14.0010.4403) 02.05.03 Sound Card: ctaud2k.sys (version 5.12.0001.0252) 19.07.02
Even though the soundcard drivers seem a little out of date, they are still the most recent available and are fully compatible with WindowsXP.
I have come to the conclusion that SoundBlaster Live! cards must be a 'tad outdated and may invest in a new sound card.

Don't waste your money.
I have an almost identical system as you and I've just updated my sound card to try and resolve the problem ...... it doesn't make any difference.
Nether do the latest sound drivers.

Many thanks for the advice.
This seems a common problem with PCs of this spec. Do any other members know why the sound "stops and starts" during animation sequences?

Hi, does your motherboard have a VIA KT266 or KT333 chipset? If so then you need this. If that doesn't work, then read this. There are known problems with Creative soundcards (they break the PCI spec and try to hog the whole bus for themselves - hence the stuttering when something else tries to use the bus).
