Last time I had my old Comodore out they worked fine. The ones I have doubts about are OLD PC games. For one thing, some are on 3-1/2" floppy and some are even on old single density 5-1/4" floppy. Even if the disks work, I don't even have a 5-1/4" drive anymore (except for the Comodore, which won't help for the PC), and even assuming I can somehow retrieve the data, most of them probably won't run on this machine, let alone under Win XP. Even games made for win 9x have a hard time on XP sometimes, and some of my old classics were made before DOS 6 and Win 3.11 were even released. At the very least, I'd have to boot into DOS mode (as much as you can anymore anyway) and run a computer slow down utility. I once tried to play an old copy of Ultima IV on my P233 MMX and even that I had to slow down to like 20% or something like that. The old games weren't written with their own sense of timing, so they just used the machine clock speed. Which back then was like 5.25 or 13 MHZ. When you figure my new one is 2.53 GHZ, you can see how they might not exactly work right Maybe I should go find some old junk parts and build an old 2 or 386 with both the old floppy drives for 'em hehe. -Kitty

You should investigate getting something like VMWare, which creates a virtual machine that runs under the normal OS you have (just like any other prog).
I use it for old Win98 stuff, as the install on this dual boot machine refuses to work, and I can't be bothered sorting it out (well, it needs reinstalling, and it's a dual boot. Next time I do a reinstall I think Win98 can be a long forgotten memory).
Plus there are a multitude of CPU slow down utils that work in 98 - CPUKiller is a fairly good one.
I went through phases of selling things off as a kid, so all my interesting old stuff is long gone. I do kinda miss the old C64/ST/SNES/Megadrive et al - but there are these great things called emulators! Woo Hoo.
I went through a phase of playing loads of SNES games on an emu a year or so ago. Ahh, Zelda. And so forth...
