Looking at the 4 unused ghosts in the gamefiles, I always thought that their design was great and well above the average ghost design. They are both detailed have a distinct personality and/or concept. This gave me the idea that it could be interesting to hear which ghost designs in general you think are the best (including the 4 ghosts from the mod but not necesarrily those we only have concept art for). You're encouraged to leave an explanation of what you think is good about the designs you picked. Here it goes for me:
5. Arclight - I find that he is the best designed of the human ghosts. He genuinly looks like a maniac but they did a good job in balancing that out with his clumsy behavior. It almost feels like he has 2 sides with him clapping up and down the visor of his helmet. All the fire powers and the unique posses mechanic suit him really well. I almost never use him though.
4. Harriet - Obviously influenced by celtic folklore (PĂșca), Harriet has great cohesive design. She shares with the mythical PĂșcas her focus on good or bad fortune, her ability as to shapeshift and her goodwilling nature. Though I also think her modern minimalistic design as a big, female humanoid rabbit is great. Especially because it is very sugar-coated. She seems overtly nice and that fits her design perfectly, especially because it contrasts that based on the raw stats of her high level powers, she's the most disturbing ghost in the game (with Wisakejak). Her fetters and powers I find correspond perfectly with her personality. Wisakejak's design is also great (and maybe a tad more original) but I always slightly reffered Harriet.
3. Stormtalon - What I like particularly about Stormtalon is that despite his unique design, he still has a clear and recognizable personality. It is evident that he is age old and all the design choices around him (the secret way you have to free him, his hammer, his late appearance and his unique and hard to compare looks) make him standout as distinct and powerful. He is perhaps the ghost that differentiates himself most from the rest.
2. Daydreamer - They really used the oppurtunity they got here with the methaphorical crosslink to a daydreaming boheme (which is just how he is designed). It's pitch perfect.
1. The Banshee class - It feels a bit unfair to mention an entire class and if I wouldn't do it, I think Daydreamer would be #1 but I always felt that the Banshee class was examplary of great design. Each of the Banshee's is unmistakably a Banshee but at the same time they all have their own personality and playstyle associated with it: Moonscream being all about fear and terror, Weatherwitch being all about Weather and Brigit being all about Madness - all with a fitting backstory - I find that even Soulscreech with her idenity as a failed governmental experiment is a great way of expanding the class and I think she might be my favorite of the Banshee's because she looks downroight meneacing and really like an artificially created evil super ghost.
Honorable mentions: Horsemen, Smokin Joe, Throne, Boo, Carter, Windwalker & Elementals (I like the general design but I think the copycat makes it a little redundant and they lack disctinction from each other, Wavemaster/Raindancer are the most disctinct I would say)
