Wow! While I was ill my friend gave me this game to play to keep myself amused. And lets just say...I'm in! One just is not enough! I am in for helping with story, and new or refining character designs. I could start with new rough designs for new levels and everything too. I will not jump in and say WOW I WILL BE AMAZINGLY USEFUL, but if you can give me a place where I can send/post ideas, I will do, even if it is just so more people appear interested. A good website is Deviantart for finding people who would be interested, as is tumbler.
id love to help you, i really want to do stuff that involves gamedesign but ITT-Tech dropped those classes, so i am taking drafting, and we use autocad, 3dsMax and Inventor, i could help with rendering, layouts, blueprints, textures (tho my skills are limited with photoshop, i could probably just buff up the existing games textures) and stuff like that. tho other than building levels with Doom Builder, i dont know anything about scripting, nor anything other than Level Design, replacing textures, and compiling doom mods...
but id love to help none-the-less. (also i emailed the OP, hopefully he replies)
Okay guys! Hello again and thank you chizmad for e-mailing me and getting things actually started. You really resurrected my post it seems. ravagerobyn please go to unofficialghostmaster2.weebly.com and e-mail me Christopher Sadlowski using one of the links on there. It's posted in a few places. I'll get you introduced to everyone, set up in whatever position you're interested in helping with, etc. I'll probably keep you on my side of everything since it sounds like you're skills will help me in keeping track of everything and keeping the project moving forward in all aspects. But we'll talk about that privately. I also want to clear up the confusion that we are creating a NEW GAME that is inspired by Ghost Master. We are not seeking rights to Ghost Master though they would be immensely helpful and useful. If anyone knows who I can e-mail to discuss our project with from the original team I would greatly appreciate that. If not I can research myself as I have the manual for the game and can just use the credits. @nemesis you've been a wonderful moderator and very honest and open with me when I first posted this. If you'd like to join us in our endeavor please head over to our website and e-mail me. We are really doing this for fun first and foremost and I'm trying to keep a very relaxed atmosphere. I'm also excited to be able to meet everyone and showcase your work. We are striving to make a commercially viable product but the free advertising our artists and other members will be getting will allow them to showcase a portfolio of work that other, legit businesses will be interested in looking at. And if we can really come together and make something that can be sold our volunteered time will actually generate us cash in the end. it's been done before by small development teams. Anyway, we are still looking for people to work on the more technical aspects of the game. Programming, game engine engineers, animators, A.I. blablabla. If you want to join us I urge you to contact me. We are looking forward to meeting and working with you. Tell you friends too!!!
Seems like you actually got something set-up. Geat Job!
Have you already decided in which language you want to code and how you want to implement the 3d models and olse which 3d files you will use? I'm quite interrested in that .
Oh and atually I have an idea of how you could publish the game. I guess you all know Minecraft and the big succes it has. You could try to publish a veary early alpha version of the game to get a playerbase before realease. If you then throw out monthly updates(or something like that) the players will keep beeing interrested in the game and the new implementations. Also you could try to open a youtube channel and post some of your work there. The most impotant thing about realeasing an early version si that you could get the people to know the game. Maybe someone wants to help.
Here are some of my Ideas on what you could implement(I guess they won't help that much on such an early stage however I think I just post them now you can always look back to them later if you find them interesting): -Special bonus Missions that show the history behind some of the ghosts and show how they died(maybe you would have to kill them) -Make you able to buy more things for gold plasm(like special ghosts or abilities) and make challenges that grant you a big ammount of gold plasm if you complete them. A challenge could be like: Beat X level while only using 2 different ghosts, Beat a level in 6 minutes and 66 seconds (7:06). -Implement a random mission button that creates a random map with random people that you can play. (This could be easy or hard all depending on how you decide to code the game.) -Implement more interactions with the surroundings -check out this post it got many good ideas in it: ghostmaster.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gameplay&action=display&thread=2758
Ok now my head is empty. Since I know how irritating it is when someone only comes up with ideas but does nothing himself I would like to help a little if I got some time(however not something to big since I'm sure I won't have enough time to do it then). I got some basic exprience with: coding(C#), Modeling 3d(Blender) and Picture editing and stuff like that(Gimp). If you tell me something that you need I can see if I could do it. However I guess the best thing for me would be to try make some smaller things like 3d models or pictures.
Oh and one last thing: if you want models for humans check out this programm(its amazing): www.makehuman.org/
