Or a power with green slime oozing from the walls and hands coming out of paintings and that they get the feeling everything is up-side down and a never-ending scream and.....ok I'll stop now...

Or what about a power that goes like:
"Come to me, come to me.." And then when a mortal comes close..the ghost appears and screams!
It would cost really much ectoplasm but a mortal with a reasonable amount of belief would run away in one shot and...
Meh, there's probably already a power like that...
