Ok, here's a rough guide to how I beat the last level. It It assumes you know how to do basic stuff like deal with Mystics and get people to go where you want them to. (See my tactics thread for some basic tuition). this is all from memory, so i might have missed something, and I am sure it is not the only/best way to do everything, so I would welcome any additions/corrections and any tips anyone may have.
Obviously SPOILERS
1) Get the inspector with the romantic couple.
First off, put your tamper ghost in the round reception area. The romantic couple meet in the room in the top left of the ground floor (if the entrance is at the bottom of the screen). They are easy to spot since they run there at the beginning of the level and hearts float around them when they kiss. Just use your attract powers to herd everyone there.
2) You have to scare off the Mystics
OK, they will want to go into the office with the inspector and the couple, and will stay there. I found the best way is to ambush them before they get there, hence setting the tamper ghost up before hand. You can basically pin them down in that round room, along with any other staff who happen to be there (there are usually 2 or so there at this point). Use the standard Milking procedures (stick to using ‘lights out’ to keep everyone together) to get access to your big resistance power (deep freeze is nice!) and wear down the mystics resistance’s and then chip away at their health using lights out and power surge when you can. Don’t worry about the health of the hospital staff, you need to scare them away eventually anyway.
3) Get rid of hospital staff
Easy scaring stuff, you will probably already have half done this (at least) in task 2. The inspector and the couple stay in their office unless you lure them out, so they are safely out of the way.
4) lead couple to basement
Easy, Standard herding technique will get them there.
5) Unlock the door to the upstairs
Milk the couple and the inspector with lights out, watch their health but it should be OK since you haven’t touched them yet. When you have enough plasm use brainwave on the inspector. Herd him to the room with the key.
6) Get Inspector up to the chest to release the ghost
IMPORTANT: before doing this step, put all ghosts apart from the attract ghost in limbo.
More or less easy, just use attract in the stair well to coax him close enough, then move the ghost to the chest and use attract powers there. Dodge the mystic if you have to, but he isn’t really a threat. Keep an eye on the mortal carousel and when the inspector has the flower symbol above his head, he is heading the right way. At this point, put your remaining ghost in limbo.
7) Stop the Ghostbreakers defeating StayChill until the Darkling is destroyed.
The ghost breakers will run around firing at your big ghost (StayChill), taking his energy down faster than the Darkling’s health decreases, so the name of the game here is distraction. As long as the breakers are
You have 3 ghosts which can help here. Your chase ghost, your attract ghost and your resistance ghost. Each of these have cheap powers which can affect the Breakers. I tend to use just one ghost at a time and switch to the next when I mess up and it is banished. But if you feel capable of keeping multiple ghosts, then feel free to try it. Speed is of the essence, since you have to hold out til the Darkling’s health is completely gone. Hence why I told you to put everything in limbo before hand, because now you can just places them outside rather than waiting for them to travel there.
OK, from the top…
Go to the mortal carousel and select one of the breakers and goto them. This will get you to the battle quickly. Start with your chase ghost and place it outside and battle the breakers. Keep using powers and moving, using powers and moving. Watch out, just 2 blasts of the breaker packs will banish your ghost. You aren’t trying to scare them away (their resistance is 10, anyway) just to keep them busy. If your chase ghost falls, use your attract ghost(you have to place it in the same/adjacent area to get them to counter attack), Finally if that falls, use your resist ghost’s faint power to keep them busy. Just hold out for a little while and the Darkling will fall.
Congratulations, you have completed the game.
