Hi, im looking for help with the following problem: When i startet playing act 2, (level unusual suspects) the game crashed and displayed the following error message: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Program: E:\......\Ghostmaster\ghost.exe Abnormal program termination I restarted, but now this crash occurs in each level i play(even on act1, started a new game) My system: Amd athlon 1ghz 256 mb sdram nvidia riva tnt2 model 64(32mb) detonator 43.03 and directX 9 win XP prof. Also, when i run dxdiag before a crash, everyting works fine(including direct3d+directdraw tests) however, when i run dxdiag after a crash, no problems are detected, but direct3d+directdraw tests fail! I tried the following things(in game) switching resolutiion (800x600 to 1276x768) switching texture quality(16-bit and 32-bit) switching enhanced cursor on\off switching graphics quality low\med\high nothing works. im not having any trouble running other games and before this i didn`t have any other crashes Any help would be very welcome!! P.s i share the pc with other people so reinstalling windows is not really an option

Well I'm sure someone else will help you out here, but be sure to browse the Technical Support forum, and make sure you stick around for the Patch in July.

Hehe already looked at a lot of threads here at tech support. (I actually upgraded to detonator 43.03 because i saw a thread about it) didn`t help much however.
Ahh well, lets just hope the patch solves it

Sounds like a weird one. Have you tried reinstalling the game? And also checking in Task Manager that nothing unnecessary is running? Good luck!

Thnx for the reply`s
I`ve solved the problem by the way!!!
Appears that more people have this runtime library error problem, with other games that is.
The solution that worked for me is:disabeling agp4x support in bios, thus switching to agp2x
Got the tip of another forum, someone playing counterstrike had the same error problem
For more info on problem, search google with: visual c++ runtime library+games

I'll add that to the guide - people will need to know what they are doing before they use this technique though.
