First time I loaded Ghost Master, I got the Empire Interactive logo then a blank white screen for ages. After that I got the blank screen with just the sound, then nothing after the product logo.
I reset the compatability to 640X480, and it played - in the top right hand corner of my screen. The intro movie and sound was very jerky but then it seemed OK. I went into 'Options' and changed the screen res to 640X480 from within the game, then restarted, hoping to get it full screen.
Now, when you get to the main menu, the screen blanks white again and all I can hear is the music. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but the settings for the screen from within the game still seem to be active. And I can't change them now because the screen is blanked.
My screen res is usually 1024X768, and the game was set to this under 'Options'. I have an AMD Athlon processor which is at least 1 Ghz and Windows XP. I don't know what my graphics card is, but it's good enough to run The Longest Journey, Monkey Island 4 and a bunch of other 3D games.
I have no idea what to do. Please help?

To find out what graphics card you have installed, right-click in an empty area of your desktop and click "Properties".
A small panel will load - click the tab on the top titled "Settings".
Now click on the button at the bottom titled "Advanced".
Another panel will load - now click on the tab titled "Adapter".
Where it says "Adapter Type" is the name of your graphics card.
Post the name below and we will try and help you.

My computer is a Compaq Presario 700. I now have the latest graphics card drivers - it's an S3 Twister - and Direct X 9. I can now get the game to play, but as soon as I go into Haunting 101 it crashes. I'm going to try downloading the latest mouse drivers, but other than that this looks like a patch job.

I can't be sure, but is it possible that the game doesn't run at 1600x1024? or at least run well? at the moment the standard for most games is 1024x768. I would try asking empire interactive via their fault submission forum.

When I go to my options screen, it won't even let me change my screen resolution...among other things. The diamond sliders are just grayed out...untouchable. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to change it

This is normal Jude - you're trying to change the resolutions whilst in the game. You can only do this from the Main Menu.

The game (for some reason) locks screen resoultion changes while in the game - I guess to stop people getting confused or it could just be weak programming
