Can't play the game!

It looks like other people have been having these problems, but i haven't been able to solve it after trying all the solutions I've found.

Symptoms:
When I try to start the game, the movies seem to be zoomed in and in 8 colours or something, I can't make out anything. When I get to the menu, i think I'm getting the top right corner of the screen, and I can see my cursor (huge) when I move the mouse, but have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to quit out, because I can't do anything.

Solutions:
I've installed the latest DirectX (9a), latest NVidia drivers (44.03) and the latest Media Player (9). None have solved the problem.

My setup:
Running Windows XP Professional on an Athlon XP 2200, Geforce 4 Ti4200, 512MB ram.

Please, can anybody help!?

That sounds horribly frustrating. If you have nothing else running in the background and have tried all else... I can only suggest that it still sounds like a graphics card issue.

Though if you have the latest drivers and such... maybe it is a related issue, like drivers for the AGP port.

Have you tried experimenting with the latest nvidia beta drivers from www.guru3d.com or completely cleaning out the old detonator drivers using a program like Detonator destroyer at

www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/

and reinstalling?

The nvidia beta drivers can sometimes behave better than the offical drivers as they can fix bugs/compatibilites that sometimes the official drivers have.
