I'm having an issue with issuing the Free Roam on my ghosts (specifically ones like Boo who are bound to inside feters). I issue the order, but the ghosts never leave the area at all. I've even tried to tell them to go after a specific person and they still don't leave.
Is this because they're inside feters? I haven't tried it with any other types, but was hoping the ghosts could wander around the house (or whever).
Is there something I might be missing? Or not doing correctly?

Actually, the way you seem to use the order should make it work just fine. I've used the "Roam" order a couple of times with Boo and he went everywhere, even up and down stairways! Problem: the "Roam" order is quite buggy. Sometimes you have to re-issue the order to make it work and sometimes ghosts just get... stuck (especially Shivers, it seems). So if it doesn't work, it's not your fault. If at first you don't succeed,... try something else.

In my experience you need the 'improved' roam order before your haunters will actually start roaming. When you give the order 'You may roam' but can't add a condition, the haunter will stay put. Try training the haunter a little more. As soon as it gets the option 'You may roam ... at will' the ghost will actually start leaving its fetter and moving to others.
But like Nemesis said, most haunters get stuck when transfering from one fetter to another. The ones that are fully able to roam (from my experience) are Boo, Wendel, Cogjammer, Moonscream, Birgit, Weatherwitch and Dragoon. Ghosts that are able to clone or possess mortals also have no trouble moving around freely.
Clatterclaws is able to roam, but she gets stuck on the floor of the room she moves to and so is less useful (though still active unlike most stuck haunters).

Thanks guys. I figured the ghost types like Boo and Wendle should be fairly apparent to roam. I'll train them a little harder and see if that helps out in the long run then...

I have managed to train Aether, Whisperwind, Stonewall, Banzai and Buck enough to get the Roam At Will order and they roam without getting stuck as well. 2. I have also never had any trouble with Clatterclaws Roaming at will.

Oh right! How could I forget Buck? I've let Stonewall roam free (though there's not many haunting grounds where he has much room to roam) yet I was under the impression he didn't use his powers anymore after he switched fetters. Never used Aethyr, Whisperwind and Banzai enough to get the rom free order so I wouldn't know.

I tried it, he also roams without problem. BTW Tricksters can also roam without the use of Shapeshift. Wizakejak looks funny while roaming.

have you trained them above... erm... BRB 'Domesticated'? (I.E 'Trained' or above) in their training level thing in their epitaph? If not they won't roam
