Unnatural Erection is in the game too but was renamed to Spooky Stack (guess they decided a less risque name would be more appropriate).
Also there were 5 levels in total that didn't make it into the final game:
WHERE THERE'S A WILL THE ABYSMAL FIELD OF NIGHTMARES TRAINSPOOKING GHOST IN THE MILITARY MACHINE
So that would explain why some earlier previews and press announcements stated "20 levels" as one of the features. Of the levels that didn't get finished Trainspooking seems to have been the one that got closest to making it into the final version and was going to take place on a moving train and feature a return of the Ghostbreakers (I don't want to spoil it too much since it is meant to be right after Cuckoo's Nest so they might make it the first level in an expansion pack or sequel).
These levels would have included the cut ghosts plus the ones you now get for free at the end of each Act. For example Buck, Carter and the Painter were supposed to be in the Where There's A Will mission.
Azrael and Soulscreech were going to be "Enemy Haunters" which I assume means they would have worked against you like the Headless Horseman does in Spooky Hollow (only you wouldn't get them on your team at all). Azrael was going to be in Ghost In The Military Machine and Soulscreech would have been in Field of Nightmares.

Elenkis do you know that for a fact or are you basing this on teh text files in the game (ie mostly ghostlist.txt)? I'm not disputing you - in fact I agree... after much hex editing of files and reading of text files I think there have been levels cut out but 'certain remnants' of the levels left in by accident. Hopefully by the time it is realeased stateside Sick Puppies will have released some kind of download for either fan-based editing or new levels - a bit like teh Morrowind/Neverwinternight developers have done with content beyond the original game being made avaliable for download but not as part of a paid-for expansion.
Also did anyone use to play Total Annihilation? The developer support for that was great - at least one new map or unit a week plus the creation tools released as well.
Edit: Although that said Storm Talon is listed as being in field not spooky hollow but he is hidden there...

I suspect trainspooking was replaced by the end movie.
Ah, yes, trap.. I actually never did use Banzai or Lady Rose.
No way out and Labyrinth must have been ment as Maze, but with more portals.
Now, if only someone could find a way to use all the ghosts(plus the four "hidden"), in any level. That would be a cool thing to play around with.

The game files have enough evidence to come to the logical conclusion that these were planned levels that they never made it in or were cut. Check out the english voice dictionary (english_vd.txt) for example, which lists voice files and their parameters for every level.
In fact here's another one I missed:
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- # THE UNINVITED
#AETHER_WINDOW_1,2D,"sp_aether_1.snd",0,1,17104 #AETHER_WINDOW_2,2D,"sp_aether_2.snd",0,1,5711 #AETHER_LAYTOREST,2D,"sp_aether_3.snd",0,1,9262 #AETHER_DISPEL,2D,"null.snd",0,1,1000 #AETHER_BANISH,2D,"sp_aether_5.snd",0,1,2045
HYPNOS_WINDOW_1,2D,"sp_hypnos_1.snd",0,1,17696 HYPNOS_WINDOW_2,2D,"sp_hypnos_2.snd",0,1,5438 HYPNOS_LAYTOREST,2D,"sp_hypnos_3.snd",0,1,7388 HYPNOS_DISPEL,2D,"sp_hypnos_4.snd",0,1,2429 HYPNOS_BANISH,2D,"sp_hypnos_5.snd",0,1,2071
QUIVER_LAYTOREST,2D,"sp_quiver_1.snd",0,1,13837 QUIVER_DISPEL,2D,"sp_quiver_2.snd",0,1,2438 QUIVER_BANISH,2D,"sp_quiver_3.snd",0,1,3121
You'll notice that each of those ghosts listed under this level also has a laytorest voice file which is the file played when you free them. In the final game you're automatically given these three at the start of Act 2, but their laytorest files seem to all be there still in the voice folder.
Another interesting tidbit is that it seems Phantom of the Operating Table was originally "Ghoul, Interrupted"

I havent tried this but in black and white you could switch creatures by changing the names of the creature files to suit what you wanted to be E.G. if you were a lion and wanted to be a rhino you just changed all the rhino files to say lion instead.
Couldnt you use this method to at least see the new ghosts, change the name and switch the directory. Its worth a try but i have to leave soon and dont have time for such a big project

I tried to change the replacing some of the ghosts with the hidden ones(both animation and character) but all it did was to crash the game.

i renamed the azreal file to say aether instead

Micko that's exactly how I created the screenshots..... replcaced various current ghosts with the files from azrael etc by renaming azrael's bsp files to (in my case) Harriet's.... I took the screen shots without zooming in (clicking on the ghost) because I knew people would question the fact that Azrael has hername next to him and condiered the possibility that people would start accusing me of making up the images with photoshop.
