Ever since my mother took her own life in November 2014 my father says there were a couple of occasions that he would wake up out of a dead sleep with just one side of his face and down his shoulder would be soaking wet. His shirt drenched only covering his shoulder and a little of that side of his chest. He swears that it is not sweat. So this only happened a couple times until now for almost the past week this has happened every night. Two night ago even he says to have been woken up to his arm being pulled out from underneath his blanket. But every night for 6 nights has woken up with half his face and should soaking wet, claiming no way he is sweating. He asked me to spend the night there last night because at this point he is freaked out. I figured with my presence that nothing would happen, but i was awoken at 5 AM to him asking me to feel his head. I witnessed only half his head and his shirt covering his shoulder was soaking sweat. Again he swears it is not sweat.....Im just looking for any kind of answers or feedback on what or why? Wondering if it could be my mom, and if so why she would be doing this. Thank you for any feedback.

I sadly have no answers for you but I do hope your father isn't still (or even more) freaked out! It sounds like a pretty tense experience. Also for you.

Oh he is really freaked out. He wasn't as much freaked out until the other night when he felt his arm being pulled out from under the blanket. Other than that he is more aggravated and annoyed because won't let him sleep. Now i did leave out that he takes sleeping pills to fall asleep, but i just don't think that is whats causing this. He has been routinely taking his meds, and this has just started.

Pills or not, I would suggest letting your father sleep in a different room. Perhaps even a different house, at least until he gets better.
