No, it's probably what they call a "virtual drive". You need either Microsoft Virtual PC or Oracle Virtual Box to open it. I suggest Oracle Virtual Box because your Windows is... er... not entirely "Microsoft correct"!

So , I downloaded and installed Oracle Virtual Box and created a virtual drive with Xpmode.vhd file ! After when I lauch it , it says :

O... kay... Go to Windows Explorer, to the folder C:\Program Files\Windows XP Mode\. Check if the file properties of Windows XP Mode base.vhd are set to read-only. If so, uncheck that option.

Odd suggestion maybe, but perhaps you can try DOSBox? I know it isn't for Windows games, but maybe it works?
